FAQ
What teams usually ask first
How much does it cost to hire a developer through bitshore?
We are upfront: we provide senior developers only, at €65 per hour. No undisclosed junior staffing, no opaque rate card you only see after a call.
Compared with senior freelancers based in Germany, published hourly rates for similar experience are often materially higher (exact numbers vary by stack and city, but €65/h is typically well below what many local senior freelancers quote). A local permanent hire is a different comparison again because of employer-side costs on top of salary—but for straightforward time-and-materials engineering, you see the number on the page.
Hiring externally feels risky on IP, GDPR and contracts. How do you address that?
We agree—that risk is real when the chain of responsibility is fuzzy. With bitshore you sign a single service agreement with our German GmbH; we structure delivery and back-office pieces so IP, confidentiality and GDPR-relevant obligations are contractually clear and reviewable with your counsel. The intent is straightforward: keep regulatory and cross-border complexity on our side so your team can concentrate on shipping.
I am not sure remote nearshore collaboration will work for us.
Then let us prove it in a controlled slice of work first. We combine working-hour overlap with Central Europe, explicit rituals and a short mutual evaluation window so you can judge pace, communication and output before you scale spend. Our leadership has run distributed engineering for years in high-expectation environments—we use that muscle to clear typical remote blockers early.
How can we be sure your engineers deliver high-quality work?
We only propose developers whom we trust in our own projects and whose experience and expertise we know will deliver results at the best possible quality. New developers go through a proven screening process and work on internal projects before we suggest them to you. This way, you always work with tried-and-tested developers.
Do you support onboarding after kickoff?
Yes. The first weeks are deliberately hands-on: aligning on access, ceremonies, ownership and escalation paths for both you and the engineer. We stay close while the collaboration finds its rhythm—onboarding is not a one-day calendar block and then silence.
Are there hidden fees beyond what we agree up front?
No hidden line items. Billing tracks the commercial terms you approved; when capacity shifts for planned leave or similar, that shows up openly in what you pay instead of as unexplained extras on the invoice.
What if the engineer is not the right fit—or our priorities change?
We expect rare mismatches, not zero. If skills or chemistry are off, we address it directly and, under our standard terms, prioritise a replacement path so your roadmap does not stall. Winding down or resizing the team follows the notice clauses in your agreement—often on the order of two weeks—so you are not locked into a long tail when plans change.
We have had bad experiences with outsourcing before. Why should we trust bitshore?
Many organisations run into unclear accountability for who actually delivers, teams with too little senior capacity on the line and contacts who focus on billing hours rather than standing behind outcomes. bitshore is intentionally senior-weighted, with direct lines to people who carry delivery responsibility, and a contract anchored through our German GmbH. That setup is informed by nine years of hands-on experience with worldwide outsourcing—across regions and from both client and vendor angles. We have seen the same engagement patterns work and fail, and we keep folding those lessons into how bitshore operates—from vetting and communication to who owns delivery when pressure rises. If trust needs to be earned in stages, we will propose an entry footprint—scope, duration, evaluation—that keeps your downside contained while you observe how we work.
How flexible is contract termination?
You can terminate the contract at the end of any month. There is no minimum term or long-term lock-in—your engagement with us remains flexibly cancellable on a monthly basis, matching your project goals and priorities.
